Projects and Yard Sale finds

I also got the first 3 seasons of King of Queens at a yard sale! What a find since it is one of our favorite shows! They wanted $15 for all three, I offered them $10, and they gave them to me for $12....cheapies :) I wrapped them up and gave them to Chase on Saturday since he hit his goal of 50 sales

I have a friend here with the APX group (Ciara) who is a photographer and is going to take our pictures this week. I found this old suitcase at a yard sale for $1.50, but I got it for $1 and planned on cleaning it and spray painting it to use as a prop for our pictures.

After picture! I added a little embellishment on the toe!

Before picture of some shoes I already had that I planned on mod podging.( You can tell how old and worn they are by the inside :)

More shoes! These were $1 but they are even Steve madden's!

Prepare to be AMAZED! I have discovered the world of mod podging shoes! I found these shoes at a yard sale for $0.50, recovered them with a cute fabric ($1) and I now have an adorable new pair of shoes for $1.50! For instructions on how to make them, go to http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2009/08/mod-podge-shoes.html
And turned it in to this beauty! What a perfect new church/scripture bag!

I actually tried machine quilting for the first time and here is a picture of the back!

I made Chase a quilt out of his old t shirts from high school.

New grocery totes! I made these out of recycled plastic bags by melting them with an iron and parchment paper, and adding the fabric words. For those of you interested on how I made them, go to http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-recycled-grocery-totes.html

Mod Podged books! I found these books at a yard sale and added scrapbook paper with mod podged them and distressed the edges. They were asking $0.50 for each book, but ended up getting all for for $0.50. I am such a cheapy!
