1 Month Old

Happy One Month Birthday Nixon! I can't believe it has already been a month! My Grandma Whittaker (Great Grandma Whitt) was able to come to Omaha for a few days and was here during his "one month" mark. It was a very special time for us to spend together with the new baby. That morning we did prints of Nixon's hands and feet, and cut a clump of his hair (don't worry, we took small clippings of several different spots so you can't even tell we did it). That day, my grandma also got him to smile! She was talking to him and he was looking right in her eyes for a while, and then both sides of his mouth went into a huge smile! Since then he has smiled at me a few times. It was a fun way to remember his One Month, and I'm so glad he smiled first for my grandma. He also his this fake little cry that he has been doing lately, and Chase and I have a hard time not laughing at him when he does it :)

Here Nixon is meeting his Great Grandma for the first time

Here are the prints we took of his hands and feet, and his clump of hair :) We did it while he was asleep so he was very cooperative. All we had was some pinkish ink, so we used that, and it didn't come all the way off for a few days so it looked like his fingernails and toes had been painted :)

There are some WILD storms here in Nebraska. This was at night, after the sun had gone down! Chase yelled at me from the other room and the blindes were shut, but it looked like someone was shining a flashlight into our living room. I opened the blindes, and the sky looked like this! It had been pitch black outside minutes before. It looked like it was the middle of the day!
