Back to School

We are finally starting to get back into the swing of things! This summer has been an absolute whirlwind and it's good to get back to a schedule.
Chase started school almost three weeks ago, and it has been pretty strenuous and time consuming for him. We are glad when the weekends roll around and we get to spend some time together. He actually had to clean a "friend or family member" for one of his grades so he got the chance to clean my teeth! It was the first time I had left Nixon with any one, other than his grandma's. I left him with a friend and wasn't even nervous, except maybe to get my teeth cleaned! :) It was a fun time and I liked looking at Chase behind his mask because I could tell when he was smiling at me just by the wrinkles next to his eyes :) I am so proud of him and all he has accomplished so far. I am so lucky.
As far as Nixon and I, we pretty much hang out together all day, which absolutely ROCKS! I have started teaching some piano lessons as well. I have 7 all together and a couple of more inquiries. I'm not sure I want to teach much more than 10 for now.
I have also been finding some other ways to help out financially. Since we bought our nice camera, I really would like to start taking pictures, and learn how to do it right. I took some pictures of a family a couple of weeks ago, and the mom was so impressed, she said she had two other friends and their families who would like their pictures done. I posted a few pictures from that photo shoot below.
The next thing I did was actually not my doing. From the ad I posted online for piano lessons, a lady called me and asked if I would play at her son's wedding! Normally I wouldn't post on here how much I get paid for stuff, but I have to tell you. It was crazy. They paid me $250 for 2 hours of piano playing!! We had agreed beforehand that it would be $200, but she gave me a $50 tip on top of that. People out here are nuts. The wedding was actually really beautiful! I was expecting a white trashy wedding from the fact they found me on Craigslist and never even met me in person before the wedding. The Mom who I have been in contact with, was actually raised a member of the church, but told me it has been really hard because her husband and son aren't interested. Some of her family actually ended up being from our ward! Small world.
We are loving living here in Nebraska, except for the fact we don't get to see our friends/family :( I try to post as much as I can so you can watch Nixon grow and be a part of his and our lives from afar!

Here are some of my favorites from that photo shoot....
