Visitors & Chase's Externship

Chase and two of his classmates went on a 2 week externship to Shreveport, Louisiana over spring break at LSU. They got to watch lots of oral surgeries and help assist in them. They were hoping to be able to pull more teeth and do more "dental" stuff, so they ended up coming home a few days early. When he left, Nixon and I spent the first six days alone before my sweet cousin Emmelie showed up! She is 6 months pregnant and it was so fun to talk about mommy stuff. We went to a delicious Sushi place and went shopping one night, but mostly just hung out and did crafty things. Oh yeah, and she let me cut her hair! It was one of those late night crazy ideas you get when you are either tired or hyped up  haha It turned out cute and I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it! 

My mom showed up the night that Chase ended up getting home, since they came home early. It was going to work out perfectly so that she could be here the last few days of Chase's externship. We still had lots of fun shopping, going to the zoo, and playing with Nixon. Chase and I had our first night away from Nixon! Chase got a hotel downtown and we went to dinner and stayed there for the night. It was SO fun and I actually felt okay leaving him, probably because my mom was watching him and that it was only for one night :) 

 These are just a couple of cute pictures of Nixon and his friend Macie. They are so stinking cute together and play so well together.

 Cody (Chase's brother) and Kristy came out over their spring break and we had a blast with them! Kristy and I got to go to Broadway's "The Lion King" that is playing here in Omaha for a couple of weeks. It was amazing! After the opening number, I totally was tearing up and I felt so dumb. I told Kristy about it afterward and she said she had also teared up! haha It really was so great. We also took them to the Sushi place we love to go to, Kristy and I went shopping, Cody went to school with Chase one day, and we took them to the Trail Center. There is a lot of pioneer and church history stuff there and they also had an exhibit of Liz Lemon Swindles art of Christ that we got to see as well.

 We were planning on going to the temple with them while they were here, but it was closed for cleaning :( They still got to see our beautiful temple and took some pictures.

 Chase got to see the Duck Dynasty place in Louisiana while he was there. I didn't even know what Duck Dynasty was before he went there, but now we are fans:) They even got a picture with one of the guys from the show.
