Chase+Janessa+Nixon+Hazel: "Surprise" 24th Birthday Party

I had my FIRST surprise birthday party EVER and it was a blast! Chase had asked me the day before if I knew where my Hawaiian costume stuff was (Since we had been packing, this was a challenge). Chase told me that he needed it for a party he was going to at school for one of his teachers who is retiring who always wears Hawaiian shirts. I didn't think anything of it. When he got home from school the next day, I asked how wearing my grass skirt and coconut bra went, and he said everyone loved it. That night, we were planning to go to a barbecue with our friends Robert and Nancy. I was feeling very tired and worn out that day and texted Nancy, asking if it would be okay if I wore my sweats to dinner. She said, "Absolutely, I'll be wearing mine too." As we were getting ready to go, Chase said, " Aren't you going to fix your hair a little bit?" I said, "Sure." So I fluffed it a little. Then he said, "Are you going to wear THAT to dinner?" I said, "Jeez, what is your problem? You usually could care less how I look. You go pick me something out to wear if you care so much." He looked through my closet and wasn't finding much.(Everything he was picking out, doesn't fit anymore, and that wasn't helping the situation). We settled on a green downeast long sleeve shirt, much better than an old T-shirt of Chases I happened to be wearing. As we arrived at Nancy and Roberts house, I was in the middle of a conversation and wanted to finish it with Chase before we went in, later finding out Chase was so anxious that I would see someone walking in the house who was late or something. We went inside, and Trey and Hollister jumped out and scared me. I walked around the corner, and friends and family yelled, "Surprise!". I started bawling. It was kind of a go away party so it felt like we were saying goodbye. After I made the rounds and hugged everyone, Chase brought out the grass skirt and coconut bra for me to wear. As you can see in the pics, it looks pretty ridiculous with my big pregnant belly! We ate tons of yummy food and had a blast! Thank you all for an amazing party and for a fun fun night! Oh, and thank you Chase for making a big deal about how I looked that night. I would have been even MORE embarrassed if I had shown up in an old t-shirt and not even done my hair :)
