Camping

We went camping over Memorial Day with some friends in our ward, the Van Leeuwens. We had such a fun weekend sitting by the fire and watching the boys play. Nixon was in heaven, and we have decided that we need to try to go a couple more times before summer is over. Our friends have three little boys who Nixon adores, especially Bodie. 

We drove 4 1/2 hours to where we went camping but it was seriously worth it. It was gorgeous! It was so green and the river went right past our campsite. You can see it in the picture below.

 There was a waterfall probably a 10 minute walk from where we stayed.

 We rented canoes and went down the Niobrora river and it was beautiful! Three hours was a little long for the little ones though. Our friends got dumped out of their canoe at one point! We had Bodie in our canoe so once they gathered up the other two we were all laughing, except for the cold wet kids :( When we finally made it back to our campsite Nixon kept saying, "Made it! Made it!" That's pretty much how we all felt!
